Essential Vocabulary

  • Similar=to figures identical in shape, although NOT necessarily the same size.
  • Congruent=two figures EXACTLY EQUAL in size and shape.
  • Angle=two rays sharing a common endpoint.
  • Polygon=closed figure with at least three straight sides.
  • Parallel lines=lines that do not cross.
  • Perpendicular lines=lines that cross and intersect or meet at a 90 degree angle.
